Current Openings

Sample Knitters (Remote) 

We are seeking experienced sample knitters to assist us in creating new samples for old patterns as well as for the development of new patterns. We provide the yarn for the project and the finished objects are kept by Aimee Sher Makes for photoshoots and trunk shows. All work is paid by the yardage for sample knitters, including all swatches. 

Potential sample knitters should be: 

• able to work from tech edited patterns, both before and after publication.

• familiar with commonly used techniques and garment construction types. 

• able to match gauge and knit entire garments on gauge, with measurement confirmation. 

• complete clean and polished finishing details as directed, including at the gauge indicated. 

• able to manage their own time and deliver in a timely manner. 

• keep an open and reasonably frequent communication channel with our sample coordinator. 

We are seeking knitters with at least 5 years of knitting experience.

We pay on a piecework basis, above market average. The first 3-6 months, or two garments, are on a probationary basis at $0.40/yard, including all swatches, and subject to change at our discretion to $0.50/yard when you become a regular member of our sample knitting pool. 

Sample knitters will be selected based on an initial interview process. Those who advance to the second interview will be required to provide references and a portfolio, including photos of swatches to assess ability.
