How to knit long sleeves for Slightly Sassy V

I get this question all the time: can you tell me how to knit long sleeves for one of your short sleeve patterns? This modification is an addendum to the Slightly Sassy V, a size inclusive pattern I wrote in 2023.

This modification will lengthen the sleeves as well as create more taper. The intended fit is a 3” / 7.5 cm positive ease around the wrist in Stockinette St, while the rib will bring the final measurements closer to the wrist.

The taper and wrist length makes this new version more suitable for layering under coats and other winter layers.

Finished Measurements

Sleeve Length: (18.5, 18.5, 19.5) [19.5, 19.75, 19.25] (19.75, 19.5, 19)” / (46, 46.5, 49) [48.5, 49, 48] (49.5, 49, 47.5) cm

Wrist Circumference: (8.25, 8.75, 9) [9.75, 10, 10.25] (10.75, 11, 11.25)” / (20.5, 22, 22.5) [24.5, 25, 25.5] (27, 27.5, 28) cm

Yardage

Wrist length versions of the Slightly Sassy V will require the following for the full garment:

Full length body: (1080, 1190, 1310) [1430, 1540, 1660] (1800, 1950, 2090) yards / (990, 1090, 1200) [1310, 1410, 1520] (1650, 1780, 1910) meters

Cropped body: (960, 1060, 1170) [1280, 1370, 1480] (1610, 1740, 1870) yards / (880, 970, 1070) [1170, 1250, 1350] (1470, 1590, 1710) meters

Sample shown in Good Wool in Driftwood Gray. Good Wool is listed as a DK weight yarn, but I found that it worked up at a sport weight beautifully, creating a dense and warm fabric for winter.

This mod is shown here in the full length.
