Top Luxury Holiday Gifts for the Fiber Artist in 2025

This is a holiday gift guide for those looking to buy a luxury gift for their favorite knitter, crocheter, or fiber artist.

If you have a little bit more change to spare or splurge...this is the gift guide for you. Whether the gift is for a fiber friend, or the fiber friend is yourself, we’ve got you!

We've included these amazing options (all mostly tried and loved by members of the ASM team) from both our yarn shop and around the fiber space. We start off with some pricier items, and include items in the $80-100 range as well.

If you are looking for other gift guides, you can also check out our piece on the "best holiday gifts under $50."

The super-luxe: $500+ items

Electric spinning wheel

If you are a beginner spinner but are looking for an ergonomic, travel size, or small space friendly wheel, look no further than the Daedalus Sparrow. This is their entry-level spinning wheel and made with carbon fiber and 3D printed plastic and costs about $740 if you include the required accessories.

These wheels are high in demand from Daedalus, so be sure to sign up for their mailing list to be notified about their next drop. Aimee was fortunate enough to pick one up at the Rhinebeck Wool and Sheep festival in 2023—and Symphony just picked one up earlier this year!

Traditional Spinning Wheels from Kromski

Since we last published this blog last year, we have become official Kromski dealers. This means you can shop for all of the Kromski things, and that includes their spinning wheels. There are seven different options you can peruse, all with different personalities and features. Whether you are looking for a castle style or a saxony style, or a single treadle vs a double treadle, there’s a Kromski wheel for every spinner. This is definitely an investment purchase, so if it’s something you’ve been thinking about and want to see some of these wheels in action, Aimee’s talked about the two wheels she owns, the Symphony and the Sonata Encore, on her Youtube channel

addiClick Interchangeable Needle Set (Standard Rocket) - Aimee Sher Makes

Interchangeable Knitting Needle Set(s)

While it seems like a high price point for needles, interchangeable needle sets become handy when knitters have multiple projects going on at the same time. Our favorite needle sets are from Addi, and you can choose from these three options in the shop:

We particularly like the squared version if you have chronic pain and need an ergonomic option.

Our favorites gifts for $80 to $100-ish

Spindles and more spindles!

We cannot forget spindles for the spinner in your life. We have a few amazing hand-crafted options for the hand-fiber-crafter.

New this fall to the shop are these "Aphrodite" style Turkish spindles in olive wood ($80-$100). These are beautiful hand-made spindles made in the Netherlands by Bregje, the owner and woodworker at Studio Spintol, a woman-owned spindle company. They specialize in beautifully balanced Turkish spindles with exceptional craftsmanship, and we are proud to bring them into our shop.

This "Aphrodite" style has a well balanced weight distribution with minimal shift towards the center which creates a smooth and even spin. Symphony fell in love with her mini Size 1 spindle at first sight and brought it home after using it for demonstrations all weekend.

Finally, Kromski has a deluxe spindle kit ($63) in three wood finishes (walnut, mahogony, and unfinished)—a perfect gift for someone who wants to try spinning for the very first time. It comes with a Kromski small niddy noddy for winding up mini skeins and 114 grams of Polish merino wool to get started.

Add on: If you do get a spindle as a gift, don’t forget to also browse our combed top fiber options to create a matching kit.

Yarn swift and ball winder set

Any knitter or crafter will have stories from when they've struggled to wind up a skein of yarn, especially at the lighter weights. Getting a ball winder and yarn swift set would be a perfect gift set to elevate their craft room!

We love the Stanwood brand, which is a California-based company that manufacturers their own products. We've included a few different combinations below at various price points depending on how much space your gift recipient may have in their home.

Project basket bags

Another great option are these beautiful project bags we have in the shop designed by Pearadise Island, an Ontario-based creator. We have a mini ($72) and large ($90) options in a variety of patterns, and all the bags are sturdy and use fully-lined canvas. We love them for our personal projects and may have already bought 1 for ourselves...

Finally, we'd like to include some of our favorite fiber, knitting, and fit books. These are an "affordable" luxury option, since these are all quite hefty. If you want to hear more about the books in detail, Aimee also highlights these in their Youtube holiday video guide here.

(Note: These links include Bookshop.org affiliate links).

We hope that you have fun perusing these gift options and are able to find that perfect luxe gift as you're shopping this holiday season!
