Red Oolong (Fall 2024)
Aimee's favorite, this is a tea based on her favorite classic 凍頂 (high mountain style, literally "frozen top"), Taiwanese style oolong. Red Oolong tea is a gorgeous brew that will fill your mouth with an unctuous, fragrant experience.
This particular tea is grown on an organic tea farm in the 杉林溪 (Shanlinxi) in Nantou, Taiwan, using the classic 青心 (Qingxin) cultivar.
Red Oolong is produced just once a year, and has a long, lingering aftertaste, with a light roast. We think that the 2024 harvest is sweeter and more balanced than the 2023.
This is a mildly astringent tea, and is one people of all ages in Taiwan will recognize as a classic, delivering a familiar, homey flavor.
This tea is a favorite for cold brewing. Use 2 heaping tablespoons of oolong per quart of water, and steep overnight. For a more intense "sipping oolong" to enjoy on ice, add extra tea.
Produced once per year during the fall season. Due to its medium roast, this tea is well suited for aging.
Made in Shanlinxi, Lugu township, Nantou county, Taiwan.
